New Delhi: A French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathau found himself the victim of a petty theft when his mobile phone was stolen near the Jain temple of while he was visiting the bustling market in the heart of Delhi’s historical Chandni Chowk.
The incident happened on October 20th, when the Ambassador and his wife explored the crowded streets of Chandni Chowk, a popular tourist destination known for its vibrant bazaars and historical landmarks.
While the Ambassador was admiring the sights and sounds of the market, thieves targeted him, successfully snatching his mobile phone from his pocket.
Following the theft incident, Mathau filed an online FIR with the Delhi Police, prompting immediate action from the authorities.
Police swiftly investigated the case, utilizing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Within a day, a team of officers apprehended four individuals, all aged between 20 and 25 years, who are believed to be responsible for the theft.
According to the police officer, The stolen mobile phone was recovered from the suspects, who are residents of the trans-Yamuna area of Delhi, news agency PTI reported.
