Bengaluru: Following the tragic incident of October 22 where Babusapalya building collapse took away life of more than 8 people, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) is ramping up its crackdown on other susceptible structures. One of the building which is on point of BBMP is getting huge traction on the internet for its bizarre structure.
The building which is on the target of BBMP is located in Nanjappa Garden, Babusapalya, Hennur. This five-storey building is made on a land of just 250 square feet which is 10 feet wide and 25 feet long. The authorities has declared the building as illegal.
After the declaration by the authorities, the picture of the building started circulating on the internet. While many users made amusing comments on the design of the building, many users raised serious concern regarding the recklessness of the authorities for compromising with the safety of people.
A journalist from Moneycontrol posted the images of the building on social media platform X writing about the demolition drive which is going to start on Monday. He shared the details of structure of the building which sparked an interesting discussion.

Many users raised serious concern regarding the safety of citizens. One user wrote, “Hundreds of such buildings are easily visible in areas like Bellandur and Marathahalli. It remains to be seen how many will actually be demolished, or if money from the PG lobby will do the talking.”
Another user wrote, “Hope BBMP doesn’t do this for name sake. If we remember the 2022 flood situation in BLR, encroachment clearing was active for a few months. After that it was back to the original.”
