New Delhi: Aaam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday took a swipe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over delay in announcement of name of their chief minister’s name in Delhi.
Former Delhi minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai said that perhaps it was for the first time in the country that situation like this has appeared.
“For the first time it is being seen that the ‘baraat’ is ready, the ‘mandap’ is also ready, but nobody knows who will be the groom,” said Rai while questioning the delay over announcement of the name of the next Delhi CM even after 10 days of the announcement of the Assembly election results.

“BJP has not been able to decide the name of the Chief Minister yet or there is some big secret which they are hiding,” added Rai.
BJP returns to power in Delhi with thumping majority
The results for the Delhi Assembly elections were announced on February 8 where BJP stormed back to power after winning 48 seats after spending more than 27 years in the Opposition in the national capital. Ruling AAP was marginalised to just 22 seats with their top leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia losing elections.
Day, timing and venue for BJP Delhi CM’s swearing-in ceremony
As per reports, the swearing-in ceremony for the next Delhi CM is likely to be held at around 11.30am on Thursday at Delhi’s iconic Ramlila Ground. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, all CMs of the NDA-ruled states and UTs and top party office-bearers are likely to take part in the grand event.
Reports also suggest that former Delhi CMs Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi are also likely to be invited for the oath-taking ceremony.
Meanwhile preparations are already in full swing at Ramlila Ground at the Central Delhi.
“A historic event will take place at Delhi’s Ramlila Ground on February 20…Every person in Delhi is excited. People are contacting us and saying that they want to be a part of this historic event. BJP is working to fulfil the wishes of the people of Delhi,” said BJP leader Tarun Chugh when asked about the oath-taking ceremony of the next Delhi CM.
