Bangladesh unrest: 450 people from minority community tries to enter India, stopped by BSF

Kolkata: About 450 people from the minority community of Bangladesh tried to leave their homes and enter India to save their lives. They are residents of five villages in Panchagarh district of Bangladesh.

The fleeing people claim that the current situation in Bangladesh has destroyed their houses and they are forced to seek refuge in India to save their lives. Although they were detained by BSF at Zero Point. Currently, BSF officials have rushed to the spot and are talking to them.

The incident reportedly took place under  Jhapratla area of Jalpaiguri Dakshin Berubari. Among the 600 people, 450 families are Hindu and rest are Muslim families. The BSF has informed the higher authorities that it will act as per the instructions.
