New Delhi: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma who was sacked from the party over a provocative statement on Prophet Mohammed earlier, is back in the news. On Sunday evening, she was forced to apologise for falsely claiming on how Ramgopal Mishra was assassinated in Baharaich recently.
While a bullet reportedly hit Mishra, when he was part of an idol immersion procession in the district, a video has gone viral in which Sharma can be heard claiming that perpetrators of the crime hit him with 35 bullets and his nails were also torn off, while murdering him. However, the police issued a clarification later rejecting gruesome claims.

#Bahraich https://t.co/B1ni0DjsVB

“Mishra was hit with 35 bullets, his nails were torn off and his eyes were also damaged. Does our constitution give the right to kill somebody who is accused of taking down a flag? These things have become quite common. We have to think ahead of ourselves. We need to think about the country. Need to think about Sanatan Dharma,” she was quoted as saying at an event.
