Lucknow: In latest updates in violence at Baharaich in Uttar Pradesh, the main accused in the murder of Ramgopal Mishra, Salman, has reportedly escaped to Nepal after committing the crime on Sunday.
As per reports, Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police has formed four teams to search Salman. Police have so far detained over 30 suspects and named around 10 accused in the FIR lodged in connection with the case.
22-year-old Mishra was shot dead and about six persons were injured in stone pelting and firing during communal violence in the Maharajganj area of Bahraich near Rehua Mansoor village in Mahsi tehsil during a Durga idol immersion procession in Bahraich on Sunday.
Ramgopal Mishra’s family to meet CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow
Wife and parents of Mishra will meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow today, said BJP MLA from Mahsi Sureshwar Singh. Before leaving for Lucknow, the family blamed local administration and police for Mishra’s death. A family member claimed that Ramgopal’s life could have been save had police rushed him to hospital on time.
We took Mishra to hospital on a bike where he was declared dead by doctors, said a family members Pramod Kumar. Kumar further added that Mishra could have been alive today, had the police acted in time and taken Mishra to hospital.
Ramgopal Mishra’s family seeks justice
Before leaving for Lucknow, Mishra’s father said that accused should get severe punishment and government must provide financial support to Mishra’s wife.
Ramgopal Mishra’s wife Roli Mishra, his father Kailash Nath Mishra, mother Munni Devi and cousin Kishan Mishra were likely to meet the chief minister.
“They should be punished the same way they killed my husband,” said Ramgopal’s wife Roli.
Meanhwile, a heavy police force remains deployed in the Maharajganj of Bahraich on the third day of the violence. Markets and locals shops are closed and internet services are still suspended.
