New Delhi: Of the total 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana, the BJP is leading in 48 seats, while the Congress is ahead in 36. Independent candidates are leading in four seats. The state went to polls on October 5.
Bahadurgarh
Bahadurgarh is a key constituency in Haryana. Located in Central Haryana. It is a General seat where polling was carried out on October 5. The counting of votes is currently underway.
The key candidates in the fray for the Bahadurgarh assembly seat are Rajesh Joon, Dinesh Kaushik, Rajinder Singh Joon, Kuldeep Singh Sheela Nafe Singh Rathee, Arun Goyal, Kuldeep Singh Chhikara, Parveen Kumar and Ramesh Dalal.
The fourth round of counting shows that Independent candidate Rajesh Joon is ahead of Congress’ Rajinder Singh Joon by around 10, 528 votes. The Election Commission said that Rajesh has secured 18,375 votes and Rajinder Singh bagged 8,751 votes. Dinesh Kaushik of BJP has got 5,943 votes till now.
In the previous 2019 Haryana Assembly polls, a total of 136939 votes were casted. Congress’ Joon won the seat by defeating Naresh Kaushik of the BJP by a margin of 15,491. Congress had a vote share of 40.77% in 2019 in this seat.
Jhajjar
Jhajjar is also a very important seat, which has been a Congress bastion over the years. Congress’ Geeta Bhukkal has maintained her lead in Jhajjar. Currently, Geeta Bhukkal has polled 12,416 votes and is ahead of BJP candidate Kaptan Birdhana, who has polled 11,314 votes.
In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Geeta Bhukkal won in this seat. She won over Rakesh Kumar of BJP by a margin of 14,999. In 2019, the Congress had a vote share of 41.80% in Jhajjar seat.
