Ayodhya: Surjit Singh, the additional district magistrate (law and order) of Ayodhya, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Sursari Colony on Thursday, police said.
Police and district administration are the spot to investigate the circumstances and the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
Confirming Surjit Singh’s death, Ayodhya SP Raj Karan Nayyar said the ADM had a known medical history. Further investigation is underway.
Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad said he was meeting people at his residence in the city when he got information about the official’s death following which he rushed to his residence and saw his body lying in the room.
Prasad expressed grief over Surjit Singh’s death and said he was a good officer who did not have any complaints against him from the people or the administration.
