New Delhi: West Bengal Doctors Forum has written to Central Bureau of India (CBI) suspecting conspiracy to tamper with evidence in connection with the rape and murder of a lady doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The complaint comes following some construction work at the hospital premises where the body of the doctor was found.
“This is to bring to your kind notice that regarding the above mentioned subject, while the Kolkata High Court today on 13/8/24 have ordered CBI investigation to look into the gruesome incident of sexual assault and violence and murder of a lady doctor (post graduate trainee), at R.G.Kar Medical College, Kolkata, we have come across reports of sudden civil reconstruction works in and around the scene of crime at the same institution,” the WB Doctors Forum wrote in an email letter to CBI.
The letter by the doctors further stated, “We are extremely apprehensive about the motive behind such an effort and we think that this might hamper the investigation by tampering of important evidences. We have informed the same to Sr. N.S. Nigam, IAS, Health Secretary, Govt. of West Bengal and we request you to look into the matter with utmost care and due regard the same deserves so as to ensure justice to the slain lady doctor. Your prompt action will be highly appreciated.”
The letter was written to CBI by Dr Koushik Chaki and Dr. Sanjoy Holme Chowdhury of
the West Bengal Doctors Forum.
