Vijayawada: In a three-page open letter to her late husband’s followers, YS Vijayamma broke her silence about the ongoing asset dispute between her son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and her daughter YS Sharmila.
In the letter, she stated that lies are being spread about her family and that it is not good for the state or for her family and urged people not to share unsubstantiated stories on social media. She asserted that her children would sort out the matters by themselves and that ‘blood is thicker than water’.
Vijayamma also hit out at Vijayasai Reddy and YV Subba Reddy, who claimed that properties had been distributed between Jagan and Sharmila. She clarified that assets registered in the name of Sharmila during YSR’s lifetime does not mean that properties were distributed and all assets belong to the joint family.
She also accused Viajyasai Reddy and YV Subba Reddy of making false claims and causing significant distress to her family.
Dispute between Jagan, Sharmila:
This comes after Jagan filed a lawsuit against his sister and mother at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for allotment of shares of Saraswati Power and Industries private Limited.
In his petition, Jagan sought to annul what he describes as illegal transfer of shares of the power company in violation of an MoU signed earlier.
In response to the lawsuit, Sharmila wrote her own letter accusing Jagan of inflicting injustice upon her by withholding her rightful share of family properties.
She accused him of violating the promise made during the division of properties and expressed grief that he was dragging them to court.
