New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Rajasthan’s Dausa where a man who was attending a wedding function from the groom’s side ran his car over seven people. The incident occurred after a dispute with the bride’s relatives over bursting of firecrackers.
Police said that the commotion erupted when the groom’s procession arrived at the bride’s village in Dausa. The accused, who was driving his car, reportedly had an altercation with the bride’s kin regarding the bursting of firecrackers outside the venue of the wedding. The man intended to park his car where they were bursting the crackers, officials said.
Altercation turns violent
The altercation escalated and fast took a violent turn when the man drove his car over seven people standing in front of him. In a video of the incident, which is being circulated on social media, several persons can be seen hit by the car and lying on the ground. They can be seen in pain after sustaining injuries.
As per the police, one of the seven persons is reported to be in a critical condition, while the others are undergoing treatment for their injuries at a hospital in Jaipur. Currently, the accused is absconding and a police team has been set up to nab the man. The car’s number plate, which came off during the melee, has been recovered by the police. The number is registered to the Sawai Madhopur district. Lalsot Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Aggarwal noted that they will find and arrest the accused as soon as possible.
