New Delhi: Netra Kumbh 2025 was held at Prayagraj from January 12 to February 26 with the aim of providing free eye check-ups, medicines, spectacles distribution and eye surgeries to the people in need of eye care.
During the 53-day-long camp at Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, the Netra Kumbh, along with 52 other organisations, screened around 2,37,964 patients across India and the world. Some of the patients screened at the camp were from 17 countries worldwide. About 17,069 patients were referred to over 216 hospitals across the country after preliminary examination at the Netra Kumbh.
Around 343 Eye Specialists and 489 Optometrists from all over the country volunteered for this noble cause.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who along with his cabinet ministers was present at the conclusion of the Netra Kumbh 2025, congratulated the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other organisations for the event.
Netra Kumbh is an initiative focused on addressing preventable blindness and providing comprehensive eye care services. The campaign involves free eye check-ups, distribution of spectacles, surgeries, and raising awareness about eye care and eye donation.
It brings together volunteers, doctors, optometrists, and supporting organizations to serve thousands to lakhs of pilgrims/people, aiming to create a significant impact in the field of public health and eye care.
