New Delhi: Pictures of a potential new entry-level adventure bike, the Tuareg 457 have surfaced on the internet. This adventure bike might likely be the latest addition to Aprilia’s line-up, which is anticipated to bring robust off-road capabilities at a more accessible entry point for adventure enthusiasts, sparking speculation about a road-legal version in development.
The Tuareg 457 seems to have similar key design elements to its elder sibling, the Tuareg 660 while maintaining its unique identity. Notably, the rally-spec model features a steel frame coupled with an aluminium swingarm, a combination aimed at durability and agility.
Aprilia Tuareg 457: Expected Engine
This model is powered by a parallel-twin engine with a powerful 55 bhp at 10,000 rpm. The expected road-legal version, however, will likely be tuned differently, offering an output closer to the 47 bhp generated by the RS 457, revving at 9,400 rpm. This setup, paired with an estimated top speed of 170 kmph, which will make the Tuareg 457 a versatile option for both on-road and rugged terrains.
Aprilia Tuareg 457: Expected Features
Images reveal the possibility of a compact TFT screen serving as the bike’s instrument panel. Other potential design alterations may include a simpler seat structure and the removal of the side panel, which could allow for additional weight reduction and agility in challenging terrain. The model is also expected to feature a long-travel suspension, enabling riders to take on rough paths with greater ease.
Specific details of this bike have not yet been confirmed, but it would likely make it’s debut at the EICMA 2024, joining a lineup of anticipated launches from other adventure bike makers, including the KTM 390 Adventure.
Aprilia Tuareg 457: India Launch and Rivals
With the Indian market moving towards lightweight adventure models, the Aprilia Tuareg 457 could likely be launched in India. If launched, the adventure bike will enter a competitive space rivalling the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure, two popular choices within the mid-range adventure category.
