A few weeks back, Apple reportedly started preparing to open new retail stores in India apart from the two existing ones at Select Citywalk Saket in Delhi and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. Now, the latest report suggests that the iPhone maker is planning to hire new employees for new retail stores in India. As per a report of MoneyControl, Apple is expected to recruit as many as 400 employees for the rumoured four new outlets in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai.
The job listing on the Apple website also mentions hiring in India for eight different positions, including both full-time and part-time employment. These job listings appear to be similar to the ones required for the Mumbai and Delhi retail stores by Apple. Based on the number of employees at Mumbai and Delhi stores of Apple which have 90-100 employees each along with part-time employees working in shifts, Apple is expected to hire a similar number of employees for the new stores, the report quoted sources familiar with the matter.
Why Apple Is Expanding Stores In India?
As per the reports, the existing two stores in India have witnessed massive Rs 800 crore revenues in the first year of operations despite the fact there are multiple premium sellers and several other brand outlets in multiple cities of India. Not only that, this made Delhi and Mumbai stores to be the top performing retail stores globally, amongst which 60 per cent of sales got from the Delhi store.
This is also because Apple’s retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi are not just selling products but experience, that’s what we have always witnessed. The experts at Apple Stores speak over 20 languages and offer immersive experiences to customers while showcasing Apple products and their features in detail.
