Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched free gas cylinder scheme in Eedupuram, Srikakulam on Friday and handed over the free gas cylinder to a beneficiary named Santhamma in her home and prepared tea.
The scheme Deepam 2.0 offers three cylinders per annum to eligible beneficiaries which means one cylinder every four months. It is part of the ‘super six’ promises he made during 2024 Assembly polls.
Pensions, free gas cylinder:
Speaking at the event, he said, “I know the sufferings of women with wood stoves. Giving cylinders under Deepam scheme is to solve the problems of women. We will provide opportunities and turn women into entrepreneurs.
We will ensure that the money paid for the gas cylinder is refunded within 48 hours. We are trying to do away with paying money for the cylinder. We are the government that is giving pension to 64 lakh people. We are giving more pension than all the states. Even if there are financial problems, we are implementing the schemes. Pension amount can be taken all at once every quarter.”
Addressing the opposition, he said that he would not leave anyone from YCP who have done wrong but he would also not settle political scores.
