Another leopard attack in Udaipur: Woman dies as leopard drags her for 1.5 km

Udaipur: In a tragic incident in Udaipur district, Rajasthan, a leopard attacked three women. In this attack, one woman died and the other two women suffered injuries. 

The attack took place near a hilly area in Jhadol while the women were collecting wood.

Leopard attacked three women

According to police officials, the leopard attacked the women as they gathered wood. The animal dragged one of the women, Meera, approximately 1.5 kilometres before killing her. 

The attack was so brutal that Meera’s head was severed from her torso. The other two women, who were with Meera, sustained injuries.

Villagers protest in anger

The incident has sparked outrage among local residents, who have long suffered from frequent leopard attacks. 

In response to the attack, villagers gathered on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway, blocking it in protest. They demanded immediate action from the authorities, including the shooting of the leopard and financial compensation for the victims.

In response to the protest, Jhadol’s Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Deputy Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) met the villagers. They assured the community of financial assistance, which led to the reopening of the blocked highway. Meanwhile, teams from the forest department are actively searching for the leopard responsible for the attack.
