Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone and launched projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh, aiming to boost the state’s infrastructure and economic growth. He highlighted the state’s innovative nature, which has made it a major hub for information technology and technology industries.
Prime Minister Modi said that it is time for Andhra Pradesh to become a center for emerging and futuristic technologies. PM Modi emphasized the need for the state to lead in all upcoming technological advancements, making it a significant player in the global tech space. “The massive investment is expected to boost the region’s infrastructure, create job opportunities, and strengthen its position in the IT and tech sectors. With a focus on future technologies, the projects inaugurated today are poised to drive significant progress for the state and its people,” he said.

Projects launched by PM Modi
Among the key initiatives, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a new railway zone and NTPC’s integrated green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district. This green hydrogen hub is a joint initiative between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), focusing on the development of clean energy.
Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Krishnapatnam industrial hub, a significant project valued at Rs 1,518 crore. Spanning 2,500 acres, the first phase is expected to generate employment for around 50,000 people. Another major project, a bulk drug park in Nakkapalli, with an investment of Rs 1,877 crore, was also inaugurated. This park, which will be built on 2,002 acres, is projected to provide jobs for 54,000 people, with an overall investment of Rs 11,542 crore.
