Andhra Pradesh cabinet in its meeting on Wednesday approved the scheme to distribute three free gas cylinders to the beneficiaries from Diwali.
If a beneficiary pays for the cylinder, the amount should be credited into their account within 48 hours of payment, the cabinet said. The scheme is expected to cost Rs 2,700 crore annually to the state exchequer.
The cabinet approved the cancellation of Seigniorage and GST charges under the free sand policy. It is estimated that the cancellation of Seigniorage charges will cost the government Rs.264 crores.
It also approved an amendment to law to increase the number of members in the temple committees to provide place for Brahmins and Nayi Brahmins.
The proposal to take back 15 acres of government land allotted to Visakha Sarada Peetham was approved. The land was allotted to Sarada Peetham during YSRCP tenure.
