Mumbai: Former Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray slammed the Mahayuti for not being able to announce the name of the Chief Minister even after more than a week since the Assembly election results were announced.
Taking to X on Sunday, Thackeray said that the delay is an insult to the people of the state. “To not be able to decide on a chief minister, and form government, for more than a week after result day, is not just an insult to Maharashtra (for taking our state so lightly) but also to the assistance provided by their dearest Election Commission, he wrote.
Declaring swearing-in date without meeting governor act of anarchy: Thackeray
He added, “To declare the swearing-in date, unilaterally, without even staking claim to form the government and show numbers to the Hon’ble Governor, is pure anarchy. And in all this, the caretaker CM is on a mini vacation, as per the phase of the moon, as we’ve regularly observed earlier too.
To not be able to decide on a chief minister, and form government, for more than a week after result day, is not just an insult to Maharashtra (for taking our state so lightly) but also to the assistance provided by their dearest Election Commission.
It seems that rules only…

Thackeray further accused the ruling alliance of not keeping the state as a priority. “Maharashtra seems like no priority for those who could form the government. They’re enjoying their Delhi trips.” He further asked whether Mahayuti would have left the decision pending, had Opposition MVA won more seats in the Assembly polls.
Will support any BJP CM: Eknath Shinde
Earlier, caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde his party would support any chief minister whoever is named by the BJP. He stressed that there were no differences among Mahayuti partners on the issue of government formation in Maharashtra.
Talking to reporters at his native Dare village in Satara district, Shinde also said talks were underway on government formation and all decisions will be taken through a consensus by the three Mahayuti allies – Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP.
