New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday termed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the “Aawaidh Aamdaniwali Party” (party that generates illegal income). He accusing it of spreading lies for votes and engaging in corruption under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership during its decade-long tenure in Delhi.
In a speech at a public meeting in the Narela Assembly constituency, Shah also criticised Kejriwal and AAP for insulting Purvanchali communities in Delhi through their remarks. He further said that the governance in the capital had suffered under the party’s rule. “Kejriwal deceived the public with false promises for votes… AAP represents ‘Awaidh Aamdaniwali Party’,” he said.
Shah said that Delhi’s administration had deteriorated over the last 10 years under AAP’s leadership. He predicted its end on February 8 when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would take charge. “Kejriwal, your government is nearing its end and the BJP is ready to take over,” Shah added, while campaigning for BJP’s candidate from Narela, Raj Karan Khatri.
