Amid ‘paper leak’ claims on social media, UP Police Constable Recruitment exams begin from today

New Delhi: The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has termed the reports of question papers for the re-examination for UP Police Constable Recruitment conducted by it getting leaked as false propaganda. It has lodged an FIR in Lucknow in connection with this.

Leak shadow after Feb cancellation

This came after the previously conducted examination on February 18 and 19 was cancelled after reports of paper leaks from many centres.

The re-examination in scheduled to begin from today. The exams will be held on August 23-25 and August 30-31 across 1,174 centres in 67 districts in two shifts. The two-hour exam will be from 10am to 12pm in the first shift and then from 3pm to 5pm in the second shift. Over 40 lakh candidates are vying for 60,244 vacancies.

UP govt’s foolproof plan

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh govt has put in place a foolproof plan to ensure safe and secure conduct of the exams.

A senior police official said that the entry at exam centres will only be allowed through the candidate’s admit card along with an Aadhaar card. If the candidate don’t have Aadhaar card then he/she can show other govt documents like a driving licence or passport.

Measures put in place

– Static magistrates stationed at every examination centre

– Officers ranging from sub inspectors to deputy superintendents of police to serve as centre supervisors

– Intensive monitoring will be conducted through CCTV cameras

– All candidates will be allowed entry into the examination centres only after undergoing biometric verification

– Entry to the centre will be granted only after candidates undergo physical frisking, security checks using hand-held metal detectors, and biometric verification, including fingerprint and facial recognition.

– In cases where facial recognition is not possible, arrangements are in place to capture Facial Recognition Image System data
