New Delhi: Even though the BJP paced towards its biggest-ever victory in Haryana as per the latest trends after early rounds of vote counting gave the ruling party a clear lead on 49 seats, three more than the halfway mark while delivering a major upset for the Congress that was predicted by the exit polls to return to power in the state after 10 years.
Even BJP leaders ushered in celebrations based on the latest trends, anxiety mounted for former home minister and Ambala Cantt MLA Anil Vij who is trailing in the constituency with 545 votes against Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara.
Although he was trailing, Vij joined BJP workers at the BJP office in Ambala as they celebrated the party’s predicted win in the state. Speaking to ANI, Vij said they knew well in advance even before the voting was held that the BJP will for the government on its own. Hitting out at the Congress allegation of slow update of counting, he said the party has many ways to vent out its anger.
