New Delhi: To make the auspicious occasion of Diwali 2024 even more special for cinema lovers, Amaran was released in theatres on Thursday (October 31, 2024). The biographical action film has been produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Pictures Films India. According to initial social media reviews, viewers are going gaga over the Tamil-language movie, praising its intriguing storyline and compelling performances by the star cast.

The Rajkumar Periasamy directorial is set against the backdrop of the 2014 Qazipathri Operation in Kashmir’s Shopian. The film is reportedly based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan and is said to be an adaptation of the book series India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor & Rahul Singh.
It stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan. Amaran also features Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman, Gaurav Venkatesh, Vikas Bangar, Rohan Surya Kanuma Reddy, Umair Ibn Lateef, Abhinav Raj and John Kaipallil in pivotal roles. The music of the film has been composed by GV Prakash Kumar, with CH Sai handling cinematography and R Kalaivanan serving as the editor.
