Ajmer: A local court on Wednesday directed that notices be issued to the Ajmer Dargah Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) office in New Delhi on a plea claiming that Shiva temple in the dargah of sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer and seeking directions to start the worship in the temple again.
The suit before the Ajmer court has been filed by Vishnu Gupta, national president of Hindu Sena, in September seeking to declare the Ajmer Dargah – the mausoleum of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti – as Bhagwan Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev Virajman temple and removal of unauthorised illegal occupation of Dargah committee and for the Scientific Survey by the ASI.
Suit was heard in the court of Civil Judge Manmohan Chandel
Advocate Yogesh Siroja, who represented plaintiff Gupta, told reporters in Ajmer that the suit was heard in the court of Civil Judge Manmohan Chandel.
Court issued notices after hearing our side and being satisfied with our response: Plaintiff Gupta
Gupta, speaking to , said that notices have been issued by the court to the Ajmer Dargah Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs and ASI office in Delhi seeking their responses to the suit and next hearing in the matter is on December 20. He said that the court asked why the petition has been filed and after it was explained to the court, it issued notices after hearing our side and being satisfied with our response.

“There was a temple at Ajmer Sharif Dargah like there was in Kashi and Mathura. We have demanded that the Ajmer dargah should be declared as Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple and if the said dargah has any kind of registration, then it should be cancelled and its survey should be conducted through ASI and Hindus should be given the right to worship there. We told the court that why we have filed this petition and after being satisfied with our response, the court issued notices to the concerned parties,” Gupta told .
