Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has swung into action to implement the suggestions which Prime Minister Narendra Modi made in his speech at his public rally in Harsil. PM Modi was in Mukhaba, the winter seat of Maa Ganga, to offer his prayers at the temple.
His visit is expected to promote winter tourism in the state. The state government has given special focus on winter tourism from this year.
CS asked the officials to act on PM’s 13-point suggestions
Within hours of the return of PM Modi’s public rally at Harsil on Thursday, the state’s chief secretary Radha Raturi issued a letter to all the top officials asking them to act on the 13 points figured in PM Modi’s speech for the development of the tourism sector in the state. Earlier, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the chief secretary Raturi to act on the 13 points.
PM’s 13-point suggestions
The 13 important points in the PM Modi’s Harsil speech are (1) MICE activities, (2) Wedding Destination, (3) Winter Tourism, (4) Film Industry and Shooting, (5) Best practices of other countries in the tourism, hot spring, wellness spa, cuisine, winter yoga (Yoga guru may be encouraged), (6) Winter wildlife sanctuary, (7) involve content creator for dissemination to information, (8) competition among content creators, influencer to identify best clips on winter tourism in Uttarakhand, (9) Plan 365 days 12 months tourism programme by government, (10) Home Stay is eligible for MUDRA loan, (11) Hotels to be given infrastructure status, (12) Development of winter tourism as “Gham Tapo Paryatan”, and (13) VVP and efforts to bring families of Jadung and Nelang villages.
Submit report on action plan to implement the suggestions
Chief secretary Raturi has asked the additional secretary (Finance), Principal Secretary (CM), Secretary (Tourism), Secretary (Information), and DM (Uttarkashi) to take necessary action on PM Modi’s suggestions. She has also directed them to submit a report on the action plan for the proper implementation of the PM’s suggestions.
