To tackle the rising prices, the central government has been selling tomatoes through mobile vans in various locations across the country since July 14. The National Consumer Cooperative Federation of India Limited (NCCF) and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) are actively involved in selling tomatoes at lower rates through these mobile vans. Now, consumers can easily purchase cheap tomatoes through the government e-commerce platform, even from the comfort of their homes.

The ONDC platform is offering tomatoes at Rs 70 per kg, but customers need to take advantage of this opportunity within a limited window of 10-15 days. Additionally, there is a purchase restriction of 2 kg of tomatoes per transaction. Initially sold at Rs 90 per kg by NAFED and NCCF, the price was later reduced to Rs 70 per kg from July 20. This favorable development has resulted in the availability of tomatoes at affordable rates in Delhi, easing the burden on consumers’ wallets.
