New Delhi: Organisers of a bike stunt event held on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in Valsad are in a tight spot. The Valsad police filed an FIR in the matter after the video of the dangerous bike stunts went viral on social media.
A case has been registered against nine people, including the organisers of the bike stunt event and the bikers. The bike stunts were carried out in the parking lot of Tasty Touch restaurant near the highway in Valsad and on the highway as well.
During the event, a huge crowd gathered at the site and watched the bikers perform the dangerous stunts. Neither any permission was sought from the police nor any information given to them for holding such an event. Police sources said that these stunts could have been fatal. The bikers involved in the stunts are being identified, they added.
In August this year, a shocking video showed a group of boys recklessly performing scooter stunts on a busy road in Bengaluru. They rode without helmets, and put themselves as well as others at risk. The police arrested all the 44 men and seized their vehicles. According to a police post, 33 cases were registered in connection with the incident, which occurred on Kempegowda International Airport road.
In another incident in June this year, a 19-year-old youth was booked for indulging in dangerous stunts on a bike in Pulivalam area in Trichy. Police took action after video of his stunts went viral on social media.
Recently, in Kanpur, a youth was arrested for performing stunts on a sports bike in Motijheel under Swaroopnagar police station area. The video of him standing on the seat on a moving bike, with his arms outstretched went viral on social media. The police also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 while confiscating his motorcycle.
