With more and more manufacturers providing good petrol turbo engine options with their cars, the competition has become close-knitted with regards to which car is the punchier and faster one. In the present times, a major chunk of the car buyers in India looks at the fun quotient while purchasing a car. They do not want to settle just for a smooth engine that gets the work done, but they also want that surge of power when they stump their foot on the throttle.

1. Volkswagen Virtus:
The Volkswagen Virtus has proved to be the gamechanger for Volkswagen in India. The product is based on Volkswagen’s new MQB A0 IN platform, that is common for the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia as well. The Virtus comes with two engine options. A 1.0 litre TSI 3-cylinder engine and a 1.5 litre TSI 4-cylinder engine. 2. Hyundai i20 N-line:

This car comes with a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder petrol turbocharged engine which produces 118 bhp of power and 172 newton meters of torque. 3. Hyundai Verna 1.5 Turbo:
The Hyundai Verna comes with a 1.5 litre Petrol turbo engine option, which is the most exciting amongst the Verna line-up. This is a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol unit producing 157 bhp and 253 newton meters of torque. The Verna 1.5 turbo does the 0-100 sprint in a fast 8.1 seconds and currently is the fastest car in its segment. You can have this car in either the 6-speed manual gearbox configuration or it can be had with a 7-speed DCT.
4. Kia Seltos 1.5 Turbo:
The Seltos uses the same 1.5 litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the Verna, producing 158 bhp and 250 newton meters of torque. The Seltos does the 0-100 sprint in an impressive 8.9 seconds which is fairly good considering it is a compact SUV. This car even gets the Intelligent Manual Transmission option, which is basically a clutch-less manual transmission for those who love changing gears but also want to experience the ease of automatic gearboxes, especially while they drive through traffic.
5. Mahindra XUV 700:
The XUV 700 with a 4-cylinder 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine is really smooth and quick. The car can be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. This massive SUV is capable of doing the 0-100 sprint in a quick 9.48 seconds, which is very quick for an SUV this size. The engine produces 197 bhp of power and 380 newton meters of torque. It is the ideal family car to have in this segment.
