New Delhi: Wrestler-turned-politician and Congress candidate for Haryana Assembly polls Vinesh Phogat owns total assets worth Rs 3 crore and also has four cars including a Volvo XC 60, which is valued at Rs 35 lakh and is repaying a loan taken for one of the four-wheelers.
The wrester who faced a shocking exit from Paris Olympics following her disqualification on the day of her 50-kg final match took a political plunge by joining the Congress party on September 7. She filed her nomination from the Julana seat on Wednesday.
Vinesh Phogat owns Rs 3 crore assets
According to the poll affidavit attached to her nomination papers, Phogat’s total assets amount to nearly Rs 3 crore with an annual income of over Rs 13 lakh. She owns three cars, a Volvo XC 60, which is valued at Rs 35 lakh, Hyundai Creta wroth Rs 12 lakh and Toyota Innova worth 17 lakh) and is repaying a loan of Rs 13.61 lakh she took to buy Innova.
While her movable properties amount to Rs 1.10 crore, she owns immovable assets, including a plot in Sonipat, worth Rs 1.85 crore. Apart from this, Phogat A has accounts in Axis, SBI and ICICI banks, in which about Rs 40 lakh is deposited. She also has an insurance policy with a premium valued at Rs 1.50 lakh. Phogat has claimed that she has Rs 1,95,000 cash in hand.
Phogat’s husband’s annual income is 3.4 lakh
As per the affidavit, Phogat’s husband, Somvir Rathee, has a total movable and immovable assets worth Rs 57.35 lakh and owns a Mahindra Scorpio valued at Rs 19 lakh. Rathee’s annual income is 3.4 lakh. He has two bank accounts and also invested in stock market. he has invested more than Rs 19 lakh in a total of six companies.
