Ayodhya: Ayodhya is gearing up to celebrate the first anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla in the temple. The event, scheduled from January 11 to 13, will include both VIP guests and the general public.
According to a statement from the Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the ceremony. The idol will be adorned with a special Pitambari garment made with gold and silver threads, which is being prepared in Delhi. This attire will arrive in Ayodhya on January 10 and will be worn by Ram Lalla on January 11.
Rituals’ schedule
The ceremony will begin with the “abhishek” of Ram Lalla at 10 am on January 11. The rituals will involve Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar) and water from the sacred Saryu River. After the anointment, Ram Lalla’s aarti will take place at 12.20 pm.
A German hangar tent at the Angad Tila site has been set up to host up to 5,000 people, ensuring a grand celebration.
Invitation sent to devotees
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has decided to invite devotees who could not attend 2024’s event. The general public will have access to cultural performances, devotional songs and Ram Katha sessions held daily at the mandap and yagyashala.
Champat Rai, the general secretary of the trust, shared that invitations have been sent to 110 VIPs and devotees from across the country. Saints and devotees are also being invited to make the event inclusive and memorable.
Daily schedule
- Ram Katha: Sessions will begin at 2 pm daily, followed by discourses on the Ramcharitmanas.
- Cultural Programs: Classical music and dance performances will add to the spiritual atmosphere.
- Prasad Distribution: Devotees will receive prasad every morning.
The idol of Ram Lalla was first consecrated on January 22, 2024, during a grand ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent leaders.
