Bollywood actress Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora died today, 11 September 2024. According to media reports, he committed suicide by jumping from the roof of his house in Bandra area of Mumbai. This tragic incident happened around 9 am. As soon as the incident was known, Malaika’s ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, reached her house and expressed condolences. During this, police officers were also present on the spot. Anil Arora’s body has been sent for postmortem, so that the exact cause of death can be ascertained.
Who was Anil Arora?
Anil Arora was born on February 22 in a Punjabi Hindu family belonging to Fazilka, a border area of Punjab. He served in the Indian Merchant Navy. Malaika’s mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Christian.
Malaika’s parents, Anil and Joyce, separated when Malaika was 11 and her sister, Amrita Arora, was only 6. After the divorce, the Arora sisters moved with their mother from Thane to Chembur, where they were raised.
Talking about her parents’ separation, Malaika once told Filmfare that the incident made her look at her mother in a new light. She said, “I learnt the value of hard work and independence from my mother. These became the mainstays of my life and professional journey. I am completely independent even today and live life on my own terms.”

In 2023, Anil Arora was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, although the cause of his illness was not made public at that time. His death has left the Arora family and his fans in deep mourning.
