In a surprising turn of events in the South film industry, the celebrated actor and politician, Pawan Kalyan, has been taken into custody by Andhra Pradesh Police. This detention is not related to his cinematic endeavors but rather to his involvement in politics.
Pawan Kalyan’s Unexpected Detainment
Pawan Kalyan, a household name with a fanatical following, is not just an actor but also the President of the Janasena Party. Andhra Pradesh Police has placed him under precautionary custody in the NTR district, along with senior leader Nadendla Manohar. As of now, no formal charges have been filed against him, and he is en route to Vijayawada. The police have confirmed that he will not be presented before a judge.
The Janasena Party President
The sequence of events leading to Kalyan’s detainment began when he denounced the arrest of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and headed to Vijayawada in support of the former CM. On Saturday, the convoy of Pawan Kalyan and the Janasena Party chief encountered roadblocks twice in the NTR district. Subsequently, Kalyan left his vehicle and continued on foot towards Mangalagiri in Vijayawada. When he was obstructed from proceeding to Vijayawada, Kalyan lay down on the road in Anumanchipalli, prompting the police to take him into precautionary custody.
The arrest of N Chandrababu Naidu, President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), in connection with an alleged corruption case has intensified political turmoil in the state. Naidu was produced in the Anti-Corruption Bureau court amidst tight security on Sunday morning, leading to increased political tensions.
