Dev Raturi’s name may be unfamiliar to many Indians, but his journey from humble origins to becoming a successful businessman and veteran actor in China is nothing short of extraordinary. Born in 1976 in the small village of Kemariya-Saur, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India, Dev faced tough struggles early in life. Hailing from a poor family with five siblings, his father worked as a farmer.
After completing his early education in Rainka Chamiala (Lata), Dev moved to New Delhi for work after completing class 10. While trying to make ends meet through odd jobs, he nurtured a deep passion for films, particularly inspired by Bruce Lee movies. In pursuit of an acting opportunity, he then journeyed to Mumbai in 1998. Despite facing challenges, he persisted but eventually returned to Delhi without success.

In 2005, he embarked on a journey to China, where he initially worked as a waiter in an Indian restaurant in Shenzhen. Within just five years, he attained positions of a general manager, area manager, and CEO, earning considerable success and recognition.
After tying the knot with Anjali from Rishikesh, Dev’s life took a new turn. In 2013, he established his first Indian restaurant, “Redfort,” with a vision to promote Indian culture, including Bollywood dance, yoga, handicrafts, and Indian attire. Gradually, he upgraded “Redfort” to “Amber Palace” by 2015 and expanded with four more restaurants in Beijing and Xi’an, showcasing the beauty of Indian culture and cementing his status as a successful businessman.

Passionate about acting, Dev ventured into the world of Chinese cinema, initially landing a small negative role in the film “Special Swat” in 2016. Moreover, he has played diverse roles, from an astronaut in Hollywood’s “The Ark” to a gangster in “Street Rebirth,” a doctor in “The Trapped,” and a detective in the Chinese television series “The Republic of China Agent.”
