Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic host of Kaun Banega Crorepati, surprised viewers by revealing his fear of being replaced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the popular quiz show.
In a recent episode of KBC, Bachchan candidly shared his apprehension, attributing it to the rise of AI. During the show, he engaged with contestant Chirag Agarwal, who had earned a spot on the hot seat through the Fastest Finger First round. Hailing from Ahmedabad, Chirag is pursuing a B.Tech degree.
Bachchan’s Fear of Holographic Replacements
Chirag made a noteworthy statement about AI’s impact on the creative field. He expressed that AI posed a significant threat to those working in creative domains. He humorously suggested to Amitabh Bachchan, ‘One day, you might not be able to shoot, and your hologram could host the show.’ In response, Bachchan playfully remarked, ‘I must clarify that it might not be me, but my hologram.’

Amitabh Bachchan then divulged his concerns about Artificial Intelligence, stating, ‘I fear that I could be replaced by a hologram because such developments have already begun in films. They place around 40 cameras around you, instructing you to make various expressions. Later, they can use these recordings when I’m not available. Even when I’m absent, it will appear as if I’m present.’
Furthermore, Bachchan humorously remarked, ‘I am also concerned that artificial intelligence might take our jobs. If I ever become unemployed, please extend your support. I acquired this job with great effort.’ This candid admission by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan prompted laughter from the audience. Notably, it’s not the first time Bachchan has infused humor into the show with such comments.
