XIM MUN 2025: Diplomacy, Debate, and Global Awareness at Xavier Institute of Management

The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, hosted XIM MUN 2025, the flagship event of Xpressions 2025, from January 17–19, 2025. Organized by SpeakUp, the Oratory Committee, the event celebrated critical thinking, diplomacy, and global awareness. This year’s edition included three committees:

  • UNHRC, chaired by Sual Sharma, focusing on human rights and genocide prevention.
  • UNGA DISEC, led by Sanat Puri, discussing disarmament and international security.
  • International Press, co-chaired by Sneha Shruti Roy and Aditya Rath, capturing the event’s proceedings.

The opening ceremony, hosted by the organizing team, introduced the committees, agendas, and goals for the event. Rishav Chandra Pathak, student coordinator of SpeakUp, delivered an inspiring address, setting the tone for three days of intense debates and collaboration.

UNHRC Committee

The UNHRC deliberated on genocide prevention, addressing historical and ongoing cases of human rights violations. Delegates explored international frameworks, legal mechanisms, and actionable solutions, emphasizing proactive strategies to uphold human dignity.

UNGA DISEC Committee

Led by Sanat Puri, the UNGA DISEC featured engaging debates on global disarmament and security policies. Delegates showcased their diplomatic skills, forming alliances and navigating conflicts to draft impactful resolutions.

International Press

The International Press, with Sneha Shruti Roy and Aditya Rath at the helm, documented the discussions, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the event’s proceedings.

Additional Engagements

The event received sponsorship from Club First Robotics and Monginis, enhancing its overall experience. Monginis also organized a student-centric cake-baking competition, adding an interactive and celebratory element.

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony featured keynote addresses by Prof. D.V. Ramana and Guest of Honor Mr. Bismaya Mohapatra, founder of Harsha Trust and an alumnus of XIM Bhubaneswar. Awards were presented to outstanding delegates, marking the conclusion of a successful and enriching event.

XIM MUN 2025 upheld its tradition of fostering diplomacy, leadership, and global awareness, making it a standout feature of Xpressions 2025.
