Air India, a Tata enterprise, and Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) have entered into a strategic codeshare partnership, expanding the range of flight options between India and Japan.
Commencing May 23, this collaboration enables passengers to book interconnected flights between the two nations on a single ticket, streamlining their travel plans.
Travelers flying with either airline under this codeshare agreement will be treated to Star Alliance’s exclusive amenities, including access to lounges and priority check-in.
Starting April 23, 2024, tickets will be available for purchase. Air India will place its ‘AI’ code on ANA-operated flights from Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports to Delhi and Mumbai. Conversely, ANA will feature its ‘NH’ code on Air India’s services from Tokyo Narita to Delhi.
Nipun Aggarwal, Air India’s Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, remarked, “Our codeshare partnership with ANA is a significant milestone in bridging the gap between India and Japan. It not only enhances our network but also promises a smooth and expanded flight selection for our customers. We’re excited about this venture with ANA and the potential for future joint initiatives.”
Echoing this sentiment, Katsuya Goto, ANA’s Executive Vice President of Alliances and International Affairs, stated, “Our alliance with Air India reflects ANA’s dedication to elevating the flight experience. We anticipate that this will pave the way for effortless travel between our countries.”
